On our way back through the cherry blossom trees we stopped to see the Jefferson Memorial. It had been several years since I had taken the boys and they were so young that I don't think they remembered it. The steps of the Jefferson Memorial was the first place Mike and I had a family photo taken with Andrew when he was only 4 months old. This place holds lots of fond memories so it was fun to go back. We enjoyed the statue of Jefferson and took some time to read some of his most profound sayings but we had the most fun playing on the grassy area on the middle level of the memorial. It was great to learn about history and enjoy the beautiful weather all at the same time.
