Easter Sunday

What a joy it was to be able to celebrate Easter on Sunday this year.  We woke up and had our traditional Easter basket celebration followed by a yummy pancake breakfast. This year Mike made ricotta pancakes.  We just discovered them recently and boy are they tasty.

Since we live overseas we usually get to celebrate and watch General Conference for our church the week after Conference happens in Salt Lake City.  By that time most of the DVDs have arrived for those that want to view it at the chapel.  As for us, we always watch them at home with the kids.  We spent some of the day enjoying the sunshine at the plum park and then came home to watch a session of Conference with the kids.  The plum park was so much fun.  The kids love the playground and the weather just couldn't be beat.  I really loved watching Andrew be so sweet with Abby.  He took her under his wing and really tried to help her have fun at the park.  There is nothing better than watching our kids be completely free and happy and to join in with their fun and be kids ourselves.

After our Easter dinner we put on an Easter egg hunt for the kids in our park across the street.  We hid a golden egg this year with money inside it.  We were so surprised that the boys did not find the egg.  It was actually Emma who found the egg and then hid it again so that Abby could find it.  The look on Abby's face was priceless when she thought that she had found the golden egg.  Emma was sweet to go along with it and actually shared some of her money with Abby.

So our Easter ended up being a mix of the secular as well as the spiritual.  We got to do the fun kid things while also focusing on the Resurrection of our Savior and our gratitude for the knowledge we have of eternal families.  Mike and the kids are a constant reminder to me of why the Plan of Salvation truly is a plan of happiness.  I can't imagine going through this life and the next without them.  I am truly blessed.
