With more than a week of leave at our disposal we had originally planned on going somewhere warm but with the last minute news that the elemetary school was conducting their standarized testing the same week of Mike's leave we decided to not travel anywhere far. We choose to surprise the kids and go up to Disneyland for two days of pure fun and bliss. Today was like any other day at Disneyland...crowded, sunny, and HAPPY. We ended up leaving a little later than planned and so we didn't quite make it in time for the opening which meant we missed the first round of fast passes. We were told that there were over 25,000 people at Disneyland today. It wasn't surprising that our first fast passes for Big Thunder Mountain would start at 11:00am. We only got 2 fast passes today and they were for the big rides. We still had so much fun today and spent a good deal of time at Tom Sawyer's Island which was something we didn't get to do very much of last time we were here. We also made it to Toone town this time and rode on the Monster's Inc. ride which we all LOVED. It really rivaled the Buzz Ligthyear ride for us. We enjoyed eating Maple Churos and eating Carmel popcorn while standing in the shorter lines. It was a good day and by 8:00pm we were all very satisfied as we walked back to our hotel. We slept well and got up refreshed for another fun day at Disney.
