We surprised the kids this year and took them to the Great Wolf Lodge. After Mike got home from work we loaded the kids in the car and headed south. They didn't even know where we were going until we pulled into the parking lot. I wish I had a picture of Pete's eyes...they were huge and Andrew had the biggest grin on his face. With Mike's schedule we just have to fit in things when we can which means we usually do things at the last minute.
There were so many fun moments this year. I was excited to finally be able to ride on all the water rides because I wasn't pregnant. It was fun to watch Peter confidantly go down all the water slides (except for the Howling Tornado because he is still a little short for that one). By the end of the day Emma was finally not scared to go down the kiddie slide by herself without holding anyone's hand and without a life jacket on. Abby enjoyed the water so much and was not shy about splashing herself. It was fun that she was able to crawl around in the shallow part of the little kiddie section. Andrew braved the Howling Tornado and wanted to keep on riding it. I ended up riding it with him most of the time. Every single time we went on it I was the one going down the steep hill backwards....SCARY but so much fun all at the same time. Andrew was so sweet with Abby and would come back after riding the other slides with Peter and Mike to give her some loves.
This was the "let me quick take a picture before you go and play" pose.
I love how organized this place is with all the different sized life jackets, piles of clear inner tubes, and stacks of clean towels.
By the end of the day Abby was happy to finally nap. Thank goodness she will sleep in her stroller.
And the end of our trip just wouldn't be complete without some fun at the arcade. It's like five kids in a candy store. We all had so much fun playing games and winning tickets. We were sad to leave but happy we got to enjoy playing at one of the happiest places on earth....especially while it was raining like cats and dogs outside!!!
