There is no doubt that living in Japan is like living in a giant amusement park. In fact, much of Japan is amusement parks. And so it is that at the very southern tip of Kyushu island there is a dutch theme park complete with windmills, flower gardens, teddy bear museums, boat rides, wooden shoes, and an endless supply of cheese related gifts. Our own little Europe, right here in Japan! The best part of our trip to Huis Ten Bosch was, without a doubt, the six person bicycle we rented. Having boys old enough to peddle us around was even better. Riding at speed around this amusement park was the best ride we went on the whole trip. Complete with bell, four speedy peddlers, and 12 blue eyes, we were quite the spectacle. Everywhere we went that day, people took pictures of us, posed for pictures with us, and pointed with glee. It was quite the ride. It was fun to see a European style garden after visiting so many Japanese style gardens in the last year. Just wish we could have brought the bike back with us!
