Sol Duc Falls

CAMPING AND HIKING at Sol Duc was so much fun. This was Emma's first time camping with the family. She loved the marshmallows to say the least. The boys loved helping dad put up the tent and start the fire. Everyone slept well except for the girls due to Emma waking up at 3 am because of two teeth bothering her. Oh well...we still had fun. We woke up the next morning to pancakes, eggs, and bacon and got ready for a hike to the falls. The short 1 mile hike to the falls was easy and scenic. The falls were amazing. The best part, however, was throwing rocks in the water upstream from the falls. We probably spent a good hour throwing rocks in the water. Dad even found some really big rocks to throw in.

EMMA loves to do everything the boys do...including throwing rocks in the water!

ANDREW and PETER both love the outdoors.

Victoria, BC

THIS IS THE VIEW from the ferry as we arrived in Victoria. The kids loved the 1 1/2 hour ferry ride to Victoria. We were so lucky to be able to see whales from our ferry during our ride to Victoria.

WHILE IN VICTORIA, we saw the undersea gardens, viewed the capital building and threw pennies in the fountain, went to the BC history museum, saw the Wild Safari IMAX, walked along the harbor, and enjoyed the beauty of The Butchart Gardens.

THE BUTCHART GARDENS was probably the highlight of our trip to Victoria. The gardens are open yearly and have the most beautiful flowers. The kids really enjoyed smelling and touching everything around them. Andrew and Peter loved the Japaense Garden the best and would have stayed there all day if we had let them.

EMMA really got into smelling the flowers. Oh how fun!

4th of JULY

OUR 4th OF JULY started with a morning bike ride and pancakes for breakfast. We then headed over to the pool to hang out for a couple of hours. By the time we got home, we had just enough time to shower before heading off to a BBQ with some good friends. With atleast 7 families gathered together at 9pm, we had enough fireworks to put on our own show. It was a blast!
